Gel coat can fade and become dull over time. When the gel coat appears chalky and looses its shine, this is often called oxidised. To remove the oxidation the gel coat needs to go through various procedures to efficiently remove the oxidation which will provide the best finish. As you can imagine, different hull types and conditions require specific types of polishes, machines and proceedures. Each boat is unique and therefore the oxidation removal timescale will vary. Many boats only require a single stage polish and others a 3 stage polish. We have many years experience working with professional polish applications, cutting pads and machines and we always provide the perfect finish to every hull we work on.
